“As a note to young filmmakers who think filmmakers are geniuses who know what they’re doing when they bring their movies… No. It’s all about figuring it out as you go, a process of elimination, trial and error. One department gives an idea to a different department, who spawns another idea. There’s no geniuses. It’s just about figuring it out as you go. Of course, it would be nice if we figured it out sooner.
